about the work:
i explore power dynamics and legacies of care within biblical genealogy, nonnormative embodiments, and planetary kinship. (G/god, flesh, and dogs.) methodologically, iām interested in translation theory, deconstructive action, and play. as such, i am also deeply invested in (the timing and appearance of) desire. not desire as an artifact of lack, but as an essential force that can activate us to do extraordinary things. things like analyzing our responsibilities toward other human and nonhuman entities; confronting outdated terms we use to define our interrelation; and exploring avenues for being in the world beyond omnipresent systems of capital.
i received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, and maintain an enthusiasm for nonliterary approaches and nonwriterly craft. the goal of my practice is to use a kind of pluridimensional attention to join with Othered bodies in sacral and ecological solidarity. i feel a deeply personal, theopolitical responsibility to appreciate softness in the face of violent global histories and lexicons. my current project-in-progress is a proposal to slow down: to spend time inviting alternative perspectives into conversations around humanity and spirituality; to reconsider contemporary conceptions of dignity, desire, and intersubjectivity.
